al-Qaeda in Hamastan - DEBKA Nails It

Back on Tuesday, we reported, via DEBKA, the following:

Urgent consultations in European and Arab capitals and Jerusalem are reported by DEBKAfile’s counter-terror sources over the threatened targets published by Al Qaeda’s Gaza cell – the Army of Jihad - dated Feb. 16.Not only must “non-Muslim foreigners of all nationalities” leave, but “foreign embassies and consulates must be evacuated and their staff leave within one month of this warning.”DEBKAfile’s sources stress that the meaning for the Palestinian Authority, Israel and even Hamas, is the launch of an al Qaeda offensive to transform the Gaza Strip into a radical Islamic entity

And now, from the AFP, we have confirmation:

Palestinian leader Mahmud Abbas voiced fears that Al-Qaeda had infiltrated the
West Bank and Gaza
..."We have unconfirmed information that Al-Qaeda, the way it sent elements to Jordan and Saudi Arabia, may have come to us for sabotage," he said after talks with Israel centre-left opposition Labour party leader Amir Peretz.

We have received indications of a certain Al-Qaeda presence in Gaza and the West Bank," said Abbas. "We are talking about intelligence information but nothing has been intercepted yet.
"I received that last intelligence report three days ago
. This is the first time I have spoken about this situation, which is very serious."
General Dani Arditi, head of Israel's anti-terrorist office, said in October that Al-Qaeda had infiltrated the Gaza Strip from Egypt's neighbouring Sinai peninsula after the withdrawal of Israeli troops the previous month.
Al-Qaeda is believed to have been behind two major attacks on the Sinai: a bombing at the Red Sea resorts of Taba in October 2004 and Sharm el-Sheikh last July, which combined left more than 100 people dead.

Three days ago, Abbas? That's when Right, Wing Nut! and DEBKA were screaming out the alarm...personally, I think you need a better intelligence-gathering appartus, bud...

So al-Qaeda is in Gaza, no doubt with Hamas' blessing...how soon until sharia is introduced into the territories? And how long before the hateful acts of terror that are Hamas' and al-Qaeda's stock-in-trade begin anew? And how soon before the international community calls upon Israel to show "restraint", and lecture them on how their surrender of Gaza was nowhere near good enough...
