WaPo's Richard Cohen Keeps Hatin' On America...

...sure, he usually is just bashing us commoners as homophobes, misogynists, or run of the mill nuts...but now Cohen has gone a bit too far, as he compares us to a nation of dogs in regards to the success of one Michael Vick, quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles:

...as with many great athletes, he was never held accountable. A nation of jock-sniffers always looks away when a great athlete does something wrong. Nothing is an important as winning -- we all know that -- and Vick was and is a winner.

So you and I and every American save Mr. Cohen is a "jock-sniffer"? I am assuming that includes his liege-lord, Barack Hussein Obama, who called Eagles owner Jeffery Laurie to praise him for giving Vick a second chance. I am assuming, based on Cohen's column, that Obama either requested an opportunity to sniff the offending quarterback's balls personally, or to be sent game-worn jock in a tightly sealed plastic bag...

But what does Cohen really mean with this odious comparison? By "jock-sniffing", is he really comparing us to dogs, and warning us sniffing Vick's crotch in particular could get us killed? Or is he just looking for the lowest, vilest name he can call the American people - who he so obviously sees as mere cretins - who pack our massive arenas every Sunday afternoon from fall thru winter, or gather round the warming glow of the TV on Monday nights, cheering on their favorite team?

Is Cohen really as different from the average football fan as he perceives? I mean, I am sure he watches some type of athletic competition - does he think Tiger Wood's underpants smell like roses after a long 18 holes? Does he not know that even the figure skater, so graceful and strong and foreign, also suffers from a dripping, sweat-stained jock after a stirring performance?

And would it not be fair to say that Cohen's nose has been firmly up Obama's jock, and Pelosi's dirty ass, on a daily basis for the past two years? True though that may be, I certainly wouldn't generalize that behavior to the general population and call them a bunch of ball-licking ass-sniffers...

A new low in liberal condensation? Maybe, but like a sinking stock market, every time you think you've hit bottom, think again - there's always further you can fall. And Richard Cohen will be leading the way...
